Spokane, WA – The Lilac Bloomsday Run is excited to announce the opening of the t-shirt design contest for the 49th running Bloomsday race, scheduled for May 4, 2025. “Each year, we are amazed by the creativity and passion displayed by our participants. The Finisher Shirt Design Contest is a unique opportunity for artists to leave their mark on Bloomsday and celebrate the incredible community spirit that defines this event,” said Bloomsday communications coordinator, Bethany Lueck.
The contest winner’s design will be featured on the official Bloomsday Finisher Shirt, earning a place in the race’s storied history and a $1,000 cash prize. The winning design will grace the official Bloomsday Finisher T-Shirt, sponsored by Washington Trust Bank Member FDIC and worn by thousands of participants. All participants are encouraged to let their imagination run wild; captivating an illustration that exemplifies the spirit of Bloomsday.
Contest Details:
- Submission Period: August 3, 2024 – September 20, 2024
- Eligibility: Open to all artist, regardless of age or professional status. • Design requirements:
o Up to 4 colors
o Lilac Bloomsday Run or Bloomsday
o Spokane, WA
o 2025 or ‘25
o The word: Finisher - Size: no larger than 13in x 11in
- Format: please provide a hard copy. NO thumb drives, PDF’s or electronic files will be accepted.
- Include your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number on the back of each design.
- Multiple entries are allowed and encouraged!

About Lilac Bloomsday Run:
The Lilac Bloomsday Association puts on an annual 12k walk/run. Founded in 1977 by Olympic runner Don Kardong. It started with 1,200 runners its first year and has since grown to facilitate an average of 40,000 people from all over the world. Participants range from walkers to recreational runners, to some of the top elite professional runners from around the nation and globe. Bloomsday is a Spokane signature community event and one of the largest timed road races in the world.
