Third Medal in “Bloomsday Scenes” Series Celebrates Challenging Climb
March 29, 2016—The Lilac Bloomsday Association is announcing the third medal in the “Bloomsday Scenes” collector series. The 2016 medal commemorates the Cemetery Hill portion of the Bloomsday course, which many participants feel is more difficult than the iconic Doomsday Hill.
“Cemetery Hill catches many first-time Bloomies by surprise,” says Don Kardong, Bloomsday founder and race director. “Most have heard about Doomsday Hill and are somewhat prepared for it, but Cemetery Hill is in many ways a tougher climb.”
The “Bloomsday Scenes” medal collection celebrates a variety of images along the route that are familiar to participants. Previous medals have included the Starting line and the Marne Bridge over Latah Creek.
The Cemetery Hill medal is available for purchase during online registration, at the Bloomsday souvenir booth at the Trade Show on Bloomsday weekend, or by calling the Bloomsday office at 509-838-1579. The medal sells for $12.00, including tax.
