Spokane, WA—A limited quantity of ornaments commemorating the 30th running of Bloomsday are still available. The 24k gold-flashed ornaments were created by the Kiwanis Club of Country Homes (in north Spokane) to raise funds for community projects. The delicate-looking ornaments feature three-dimensional figures resembling the famous runners statues in Riverfront Park, lilacs, and the year. They are the fourth in a series honoring various Spokane landmarks including the Monroe Street bridge and the county courthouse.

The Kiwanis Club sold the ornaments at the Bloomsday Trade Show, and are now offering them for sale to the public. Funds raised from the sale go back into the community through the Kiwanis Club’s activities and donations to organizations such as HOBY (Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership training), Cancer Patient Care’s Lorene Miller bike ride, Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery and many more. The ornaments can be purchased by downloading and mailing an order form along with a check (or credit card payment) of $9.00 ($7.00 plus $2.00 shipping and handling).

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Country Homes Kiwanis was established in January 1950 and over the years has contributed many thousands of hours and dollars in service to the Spokane community, the country and the world.
