Spokane, WA – June 17, 2026 —The Lilac Bloomsday Association is now accepting applications for the 2027 “Charity of Choice.” This initiative provides Spokane-area nonprofit organizations with a unique opportunity to raise awareness, generate donations, and connect with tens of thousands of Bloomsday participants all in support of meaningful, community-focused missions.
The 51st running of the Bloomsday 12K Run will take place on Sunday, May 2, 2027. The selected charity will be celebrated throughout the lead-up to race weekend and recognized as a vital part of Bloomsday’s commitment to community. Applications should be no more than two pages and must include:
- A brief history and background of the organization and its mission.
- An explanation of how being selected as the 2026 Charity of Choice would benefit the organization’s goals.
- Any unique fundraising ideas or collaborative opportunities to enhance both the charity’s visibility and Bloomsday’s community impact.
- Contact information including the nonprofit’s name, mailing address, phone number, and website.
Application letters may be mailed to the Bloomsday office at 1414 N. Belt, Spokane, WA 99201, or sent via email to Bloomsday Director of Sponsorship and Communications Bethany Lueck at Bethany@bloomsdayrun.org. The application deadline is Friday, July 31, 2026.
The Lilac Bloomsday Association Charity Committee will begin reviewing submissions immediately after the deadline, with a final decision expected by early October and all applicants will be notified of the outcome.
