Spokane, WA—Jr. Bloomsday is filling up fast, and in a few days the opportunity to participate in the 2019 revival of the incredibly popular kids run of the 1980s and 1990s will be gone! At midnight on April 13th, or when 3,000 kids have signed up (whichever comes first), Jr. Bloomsday registration will be closed.
Kids 3rd grade through 7th grade are encouraged to sign up now for the April 20th Jr. Bloomsday event. The 1.25-mile course is at the Spokane County Fairgrounds, with the finish line at home plate in Avista Stadium. Finishers will receive a limited edition finisher shirt, Silverwood Theme Park Pass, Papa Murphy’s mini-pizza, and a souvenir bracelet, all for the low entry fee of $20.00.
For those planning to participate in the “big” Bloomsday, scheduled for May 5, deadlines are approaching faster than Jemal Yimer, last year’s race winner. Mailed entries need to be postmarked by April 16, while online entrants will have until April 21st to take advantage of the low $22.00 fee (plus processing). Registration information is available on the Bloomsday website, www.bloomsdayrun.org.
Bloomsday entry forms are available at area Washington Trust Banks, Albertsons and Safeway Stores, Franz Bakery Outlets, Premera Blue Cross, Holy Family Hospital and Sacred Heart Medical Center.
There’s also a downloadable form on the Bloomsday website. Approximately 40,000 runners and walkers are expected to toe the line for the 43rd Bloomsday on Sunday, May 5th.
