Spokane, WA—One of the most popular parts of the annual Lilac Bloomsday Run is the variety of performers along the 7.46-mile route, and this year should be no exception, as nearly 30 different individuals and groups have been scheduled throughout the course.
“This is a great lineup again this year,” said Bloomsday Board member Dori Robertson, who works with on-course entertainment director Laurel Warner in scheduling bands and other performers along the route. “There’s something for everybody on the Bloomsday course.”
This year’s on-course entertainment includes music to please a variety of tastes, including rock, pop, punk, blues, bluegrass, ska, oldies, accordion and Christian. For the second straight year, the Choir from the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes will perform outside the church early on the Bloomsday course. This year’s performers also include perennial crowd favorite Adrienne Bousquet and performances by science fiction & fantasy actors SpoCon 2010.
Bloomsday entrants will be able to vote for their favorite performers by logging on to www.bloomsdayrun.org after the race, and prizes of $500, $300, and $150 will be awarded to the winning entertainers.
Those wanting to take advantage of over seven miles of entertainment still have time to sign up for this year’s Bloomsday Run. Late registration is available during normal Check-In hours at the Spokane Convention Center on Friday, April 30th, from 11:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 1st from 9:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Race entry is not available on Sunday, May 2nd.
